Once an older child has mastered one to one, you can also involve actual mancala rule which would extend patterning further.

It allows for students to be hands-on with materials as they count and practice counting out numbers of objects. I will definitely be trying this with my Pre-K students after Thanksgiving!

Wide variety of counting materials/ ideas can be used.. Or you can create your own boards using egg cartons, ice cube trays ,tape on a table or as an outdoor activity chalk squares or circles on the sidewalk…..
