The article focuses on a new IPad app called “Bedtime Math” which is designed for children and parents to work on together.  The math is embedded into a story problem that needs to be solved.  Parents and children can choose the problem of the day and work through the math.  There are questions for wee ones, little kids, and bigger kids.

Check it out.

Bedtime Math Redux https://earlymathcounts.org/bedtime-math-redux/ https://earlymathcounts.org/bedtime-math-redux/#respond Wed, 05 Nov 2014 12:24:58 +0000 http://www.mathathome.org/blog1/?p=3067 Early Math Counts’s Dr. Kathleen Sheridan sent me this link last week.  It will take you to a pretty cool website called “Bedtime Math”.  Founded by parents, this not-for-profit organization is funded by private donors who simply want to increase math opportunities for young children in school and at home.  This is not unlike the Early Math Counts mission.

When I opened the website, it seemed familiar.  That is because I wrote a blog entry about these folks over 2 years ago.  Their website has come a long way and has loads of great materials for teachers and parents.

Check it out.
